Hi, I'm Uddant
I'm a student at Harvey Mudd College studying maths and CS.
In particular, I'm obsessed with all things algorithmiconly kind of in order of preference, this includes but is not limited to: randomized, exact-exponential, online, learning, combinatorial optimization, game-theoretic, parallel, and approximation algorithms.
I've been very lucky to get to work on some cool projects with equally cool advisors. I'm currently working with Prof. Teal on designing algorithms to beat state-of-the-art estimators for Shapley values on arbitrary gamesAlthough more interestingly on black box ML models to help with interpretability of AI.
I've been mentored by Prof. Tim Randolph on designing exact exponential algorithms for NP-Hard problems from algebraic and additive combinatorics. If this interests you, you can check out the poster we presented at the SoCal CS REU Symposium for a flavour of our research.
I've also gotten to explore applied ML/stats research with Prof. Susan Martonosi focused on quantitatively analyzing data for public health, and quantum entanglement research focused on simulations and data analysis with Prof. Jason Gallicchio.
Outside of research, some of my interests include trying new foodthe spicier the better, musicals"So you like showtunes. That doesn't mean you're gay. It just means you're awful" - Sue Sylvester, Glee. Btw, my current obsession is Hadestown, hikinghoping to go on a Via Ferrata this fall 😆, puzzle gamesalbeit less so the jigsaw variety, any strategy-based game, competitive programming, footballsoccer for you yanks, and graphic novels.
